Transit Tax Credit
Q.1 The 2007 Budget proposes to expand the eligibility criteria for the transit tax credit and, as a result, I would now be able to claim the tax credit. However, I did not keep receipts or old passes between January 1st and today. Would I still be able to claim the credit for those “undocumented” costs?
A.1 Taxpayers are expected to provide appropriate supporting documentation for any tax credit claimed, if requested to do so by the Canada Revenue Agency.
